It's Sunday evening, March 18. My wife and I just got home from our trip to Washington, D.C.

We spent our weekend with a Gathering of Eagles.

On March 17, 2007 thousands of liberal, America-hating, military-bashing moonbats decended on D.C. to have themselves a big ole anti-war hissy fit. They intended to repeat their performance of January 27, when (led by Hanoi Jane Fonda, Cindy Sheehan, Sean "Johnboat" Penn and other hollywood clowns) they spent the day telling each other how much they hate America, Bush and our military. They dis-respected wounded Iraqi veterans, trashed recruiter offices and painted graffiti on the steps of YOUR capital building. They did all that unopposed.

But that was January 27, this time things went a little different. This time there was approximately 30,000 Real Americans standing in their way.

My wife and I left our motel at 7:00 A.M., and along with a couple of veterans from Chicago, took a cab to Constitution and 22nd. It snowed the night before and the temperature was around 30; if there was any temperature. I think the wind blew it away. We spent about 15 minutes milling around the area of the Vietnam and Lincoln memorials before figuring out where was the Moonbat HQ.

The stated mission of the Gathering of Eagles was to prevent desecration of the Vietnam memorial, (the Wall). However, it appeared to me that the Parks Police had that objective well under control. Nobody got near the Wall without being searched. So, what to do?

Donna and I went to the north side of the Lincoln Memorial and picked out a spot on the then empty sidewalk across the street from MHQ (Moonbat Headquarters). We had 3 American flags and a poster-size sign I had drawn that morning in our motel room. It read simply "WIN THIS WAR". Donna held a sign given to her by another Eagle.

After about 30 minutes, more Real Americans started showing up, discovering the location, and took their places on the sidewalk.

Within an hour the entire north side of the Lincoln Memorial area was packed with Real Americans. We occupied an area of about 200 feet wide and about 50 feet deep.

The stupid side of the street had gained in numbers as well, though not quite as many.

Flags.

I noticed that on the stupid side of the street, there were lots of flags. But only one token American flag, back there behind them. Way back there. Standing alone. Oh, but they did have a nice big Palestinian flag up front.

And to be fair, later that day there were two maybe three American flags. Little 6 inch models. I think they might have sent someone to WalMart to get some more token flags.

But look at the flags on the American side of the street.

However, that was only one group of Eagles taking on the southern flank of the MHQ. Thousands more Eagles were busy in other areas as well. At the Eagles HQ, to the east and south of Constitution Ave., the Gathering of Eagles was in progress, when some noticed that moonbats were arriving on buses and walking down the sidewalk, past the Gathering towards MHQ to the west.

The Eagles immediately lined both sides of the sidewalk for about 4 blocks, forcing the moonbats to run the gauntlet. Though no moonbat was touched, they all took a brutal verbal beating. They got 30 years worth of saved-up free speech within a four block walk.

They did not like it. Free speech is for liberals only, ya know. This is Gathering Of Eagles HQ. Can you find the flag in this picture?

The Gauntlet was a real popular event for the Eagles. It was very difficult to get close enough for good photos. Above, the Gauntlet extends to the east, and below to the west. I am on the south side of the sidewalk, about mid way of the Gauntlet.
